AI / Model series
The Arcus Series.
A large model dedicated to code. The aim is depth: a system that is exceptional at software engineering rather than passable at everything.

What the series is for
Most large models treat code as one capability among many. Arcus takes the opposite position. It is intended to be a model that thinks in software, one whose strengths are reasoning about systems, reading and writing code at scale, and doing the patient, multi-step work that real engineering demands.
The trade-off is explicit. By specializing, Arcus gives up breadth. We believe that is the right exchange: a model that is genuinely good at one hard thing is more useful than a model that is mediocre at all of them.
Notes and architectural thinking exist for the first model, Arcus-1, but no development has begun. We are sharing the direction honestly now rather than implying a capability we have not produced.
