What the series is for
Photon is our concept for image generation: a model intended to take a written prompt and produce an image. It is the visual counterpart to the rest of our lineup, and a first step toward tools that create as well as reason.
Photon-1 is the planned first model in the series. Like most of what we are building, it is a concept today, shared here so the direction is on the record.
The intent for Photon-1 is clear, but the model is not built. We would rather say so plainly than imply a capability we have not produced.
